Diabetes-lower carb pizza crust recipe

I’m trying to be good when eating because my hubby can’t eat like he use to. I hate to eat things he can’t have. So I’m eating like him to help me take off some pounds. Diabetes runs on both sides of my family. What about pizza, thin crust pepperoni? How many pieces can he have. He usually eats 4. I quess he will have to cut back.Anyone have a lower carb pizza crust recipe?

Answer:
Pepperoni pizza is never likley to be a health food! The meat is just too fatty, not to mention the large amounts of cheese found on most commercially made pizzas.
Make a home made vegetarian pizza that is quite healthy – pita bread base, tomato paste spread on base, lots of mushrooms, capsicum (peppers? in the US?) tomato, some pineapple, and a small amount of low fat cheese. You could make a meat version by using lean meat as well.
Take 1 lb of ground italian sausage and roll it out on a 9×13 parchment lined pan with a edge around it. It will be approximately 1/8th of an inch thick.
Place in 450 degree for 10 minutes
Remove from oven and drain grease
Top with you favorite low carb pizza sauce, add slice red peppers, mushrooms, slice red onions or whatever else you like. Add lots of mozzarella cheese, (I even put pepperoni on top of mine) return to the 450 degree oven and bake for 10 to
15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let cool for 10 minutes and then enjoy!
