The right loan for investing

I’m 22 years old and so far accumalated $50,000 in my little portfolio of mutual funds, index funds, Roth IRA, and stocks. Bottom line I don’t make enough money to save as much as I want to. I see so much profit out there in the market but there’s nothing I can do.
How many times do you hear about loans be given to young teenagers to pay for their credit card or their car? What about a loan for investers?? Never thought about it, but I’m sure someone on this planet has. Where could I find such a place? It could be a great profit for lenders.
What do you think? Does anybody know where I can do this? Who I can talk to about it?

Answer:
Now, if you have a diversified portfolio and a steady income stream, you can “boost” your portfolio if you can obtain a low APR line of credit that you can invest, but are prepared to add that to your debt column in a worst case scenario. I would treat any monies borrowed in this method as part of your “mad money” segment of your portfolio to keep your investments from being overly aggressive. This will also keep you from borrowing such a large amount that would prevent you from ever being able to repay it in a worst case scenario.
You probably wouldn’t get one because you don’t have colateral, if you were to set it up as a business then some lenders may be willing to give you a business loan.

How to manage my finances to pay for grad school

I will go to grad school next year, and I have been wondering how to manage my finances so that I can pay for grad school ($50,000); and I am on my early forties. At this point I have saved $25,000, and can manage to save around $1,000 monthly. I don’t have to worry about paying taxes since I worked at an international organization, but would very much find some creative/moderately safe ways to invest the money and pay for my school.

Answer:
I think the MBA is good and you will have the capability of paying back your loans. It would be conservative if you think you will need the money. If you have a house then do an equity loan or the college loans have low interest and invest some of the difference. You do have to be careful to protect your principal unless you have some other options for using other peoples money and allowing yours to outgrow the loaned amounts, if not stay conservative and just pay it back once you graduate. Don’t take risks without a plan.

Can I write it off?

I just started my first year of teaching. My current school lacks technology in the classroom. My question is, if I purchase a projector and labtop to use in my classroom, can I write it off? If so, how much? If not, I guess my students will be stuck with lecture!

Answer:
Consult your necessary boss for this, if he will allow you to buy this things and repay under miscellaneous expense then that would be good; but if no reimbursement will be done then that`s a risk on your part.
Negotiate for a better result. Let them pay even a half for an effective and efficient learning for the current year and the balance for next year for education`s sake. Hope for a better negotiations on this matter.

Personal finance course advice

Do you think it should be mandatory for all high school students to take a personal finance course? Do you think it should also be a college requirement?

Answer:
Yes it should be mandatory at both levels. These kids get to college and have no clue how to manage their finances.
There is something wrong with a college graduate who can’t manage a simple checking account balance.
I think in this age, personal finance, advertising psychology, reading comprehension, and logic are more important than ever for all citizens, regardless of their future careers.

Should I buy a high mileage vehicles?

My friend is selling her 91 Honda Accord for $1000. It’s a good deal but the thing’s got 213,000 miles on it. I only need it for going back and forth from school and work, but I’m worried it’ll break anytime on me. Should I go for it or not? Any advice appreciated

Answer:
The cars made today are more reliable and can generally go further than their predecessors due to better technology. Do you have any idea of prior maintenance and upkeep of that vehicle? Cars that have properly maintained also tend to last longer and get higher mileage from the engine. I’d take the vehicle to a trusted mechanic for a thorough “lookover”.A good mechanic , especially one with experience with Hondas, knows what to look for and can give you an idea of it’s overall condition, and whether or not it is a good buy.

Wheel balancing

I was driving home from work when another driver entered an intersection with me still in it to avoid an accident I swirved and mounted the curb. this caused my front tyre to blow out. I managed to change the tyre fine but now the car slightly shakes and veers to the left. could this mean i need a wheel balance or is it likely to be more serious.

Answer:
Shaking probably means incorrect balancing. But otherwise the car should go strait. You might have got bent rods. Somebody needs to croll under the car and visually inspect it for bent/leaking parts. your tire allignment was affected. have it checked by your trusted wheel service.

What kind of pain medicine could I takewith my anti depressants?

What kind of pain medicine could I takewith my anti depressants?I take Lexapro and Xanex.

Answer:
I was frankly stunned that your doctor gave you the run around and has not answered your question. I commend you for having the foresight and concern to wonder if the pain medication and antidepressant you are taking were compatible.
May I also suggest that you talk with your pharmacist. He/she definitely should be able to tell you. If the pharmacist won’t tell you then may I suggest you go to Google and type in “drug compatibility (name of pain medication) (name of antidepressant)”.

High Bilirubin count-What Does this mean?

I recently had a routine bloodtest done and I was told that I had a high biliruben count for my liver, and i’m seeing a doctor in a few weeks. How is it usually treated, (is there any surgery involved) and could this mean anything more serious.

Answer:
Sometimes High bilirubin counts w/o other abnormal liver tests may be Gilbert Syndrome, a genetic condition that does not cause any complication.
High Bilirubin count can cause jaundice. Depends on how bad you are if your liver will be damaged or not. Best bet is to follow your doctors orders to a “T”. And stay on whenever diet he has you on. Usually low fat. Just do whatever he says to do.

Diabetes-lower carb pizza crust recipe

I’m trying to be good when eating because my hubby can’t eat like he use to. I hate to eat things he can’t have. So I’m eating like him to help me take off some pounds. Diabetes runs on both sides of my family. What about pizza, thin crust pepperoni? How many pieces can he have. He usually eats 4. I quess he will have to cut back.Anyone have a lower carb pizza crust recipe?

Answer:
Pepperoni pizza is never likley to be a health food! The meat is just too fatty, not to mention the large amounts of cheese found on most commercially made pizzas.
Make a home made vegetarian pizza that is quite healthy – pita bread base, tomato paste spread on base, lots of mushrooms, capsicum (peppers? in the US?) tomato, some pineapple, and a small amount of low fat cheese. You could make a meat version by using lean meat as well.
Take 1 lb of ground italian sausage and roll it out on a 9×13 parchment lined pan with a edge around it. It will be approximately 1/8th of an inch thick.
Place in 450 degree for 10 minutes
Remove from oven and drain grease
Top with you favorite low carb pizza sauce, add slice red peppers, mushrooms, slice red onions or whatever else you like. Add lots of mozzarella cheese, (I even put pepperoni on top of mine) return to the 450 degree oven and bake for 10 to
15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let cool for 10 minutes and then enjoy!
