Work Recess Tips
Feeling as if your cubicle walls are closing in on you? That’s a sure sign you’re stressing big time at work! Darrin Zeer the author of Office Spa offers some easy remedies to chase away the office blues:
Mellow Monday: Today is always the toughest, isn’t it? Try keeping a bottle of ylang-ylang oil in your desk drawer because this soft fragrance helps calm anxiety. When you get in Monday morning open the bottle and take a whiff to chase away those nasty blues!
Tranquil Tuesday:Take a deep breath and imagine yourself at a fabulous place. It can either be a beautiful beach or the luxurious woods. Savour the scent and the magic of nature. You’ll be surprised how images like that can refresh you!
Wise Wednesday: Relax your tired face and stimulate your senses with peppermint, which is known to be a great natural decongestant! Brew a hot cup of peppermint herbal tea and slowly lower your face over the cup and inhale deeply. Enjoy!
Thoughtful Thursday: Try Shiatsu, a Japanese finger massage. This effective self-treatment doesn’t require massage oils and can be easily performed over clothing! Get comfy in your chair and relax your body. Then press your thumb or fingertips into any area where muscles are tight. Apply firm pressure for five seconds and move to the next spot. The results are instant!
Fulfilling Fridays:Bet you’re perky today! Tired eyes are prevalent by the end of the week, so try this soothing exercise: Rub palms together quickly to warm them and then place gently over your eyes until the heat dissipates. Take relaxing breaths throughout!
