Monitor your blood pressure regularly

Guess what? You might have high blood pressure, and not know it! To keep it in check, monitor your blood pressure regularly and if it’s over the target 140/85 measure, see a doctor. There are a lot of ways you can naturally lower pressure such as cut down on sodium and up potassium levels (the mineral counteracts the effects of sodium). Rich sources include tomatoes, oranges, bananas, baked potatoes and avocados.

Did you know?
Contrary to popular belief, water is not the only way to keep hydrated – beverages can do the job just as well. Researchers at the University of Nebraska studied 27 people to see how their fluid intake affected signs of dehydration, including body weight and levels of compounds in the urine. One group was given water along with other non-alcoholic beverages, while the other was given equal
amounts of juice, coffee, regular and diet soda, but no water. After three days, researchers found no differences in hydration levels. Okay, but our bet’s still on water, thanks.
