Heat hives – Cholinergic Urticaria
Cholinergic urticaria as known as heat hives or stress-induced hives. Cholinergic Urticaria is characterized by red welts appearing on skin, along with an intense itching in affected areas.
No body is sure about how or why people get Cholinergic Urticaria. It seems to be affected by stress as many people who get Cholinergic Urticaria are typically going through an strangely stressful time when they develop it. Example having relationship problems.
Histamines in your body, when released, trigger a Cholinergic Urticaria attack. Heat is the stimulus, the actual precipitating cause is sweating (incapability to sweat). Red welts begin to appear on areas including but not limited to arms, neck, chest, arms, back and sometimes legs. After sweating is induced, the itching should go away.
There is no sure treatment for Cholinergic Urticaria, it seems different things work for different people depending on the severity of the attacks and other factors. Cholinergic Urticaria is a relatively uncommon disease that effects a small percent of the population which is part of the explanation why there isn’t a definite cure.
