How long does it take for a newcomer to start making profits?
Practice on demo account for 6 months before going live. Demo trade until you are comfortable with your platform, your broker, your trading plan, which includes your trading system. Demo with the amount of money you are willing to invest. When you go live do not deviate from any of the above. You have a winning system in demo it will work in live. Try not to be under capitalized, if you are trade to that level.
Studies show that it takes anywhere from 18-30days to develop a pattern (good or bad), and about 2-3 months to implement it successfully. So it’s important that you do things the way you consciously know they should be done, emulate the positive and avoid developing awful habits constantly (blowing accounts, taking trades on wrong signals, greed and fear). Learn from your mistakes, write it down, and give your word never to do it again.
Long Term or Short Term Forex Trading
If you are newcomer, begin with the short-term trading, if you can’t make money in the short term your chances of making it in the long term is miserable.
If your short-term decision is wrong, the long-term will also be wrong, start with the short term where you can notice your mistakes and rapidly correct it not leaving in hopes that it will turn your way.
How long is long-term and how long is short-term make the difference i.e. if ‘short term’ is trading anything shorter than the daily time frame you will get ‘nailed’ if you don’t know what you’re doing for the simple reason that on time frames shorter than the daily you are ‘wide open’ for ‘surprises’ like ‘spikes’, ‘stop hunting’, ‘news data’, etc.
If you are a new trader, the ‘odds’ of you having the ‘experience’ to ‘react’ quickly enough or ‘judge’ the market in the short term are very slim.
Looking at ‘long term’ charts meaning ‘daily or longer’ does not take a genius to see where the general trend is going. The disadvantage of ‘long term’ i.e. daily and longer: bigger stops, greater potential losses. The positive factor of course: bigger potential profits. What will ‘nail’ you even quicker though is not having the patience and discipline to see the ‘long term’ (meaning daily or longer) trades through to their conclusion.

Tips for developing a good email promoting your product
1. Be sincere (don’t guarantee 100% increase in productivity if it won’t get you a 100% increase. If you do this, will fail at building the relationship)
2. Directly to the point (don’t devastate the readers time, they’ll probably spend less than 20 seconds looking at your email. So make it short and nice.
3. Use the subject line to your advantage (this could be the only thing that the decision maker see, so they need to know that this is not spamm)
4. Build up a relationship (this is tough to do with an email, but be personal. Find out the decision makers name, address the email to him. Make the email feel like you are talking to him, and not to many companies. Personally, I would recommend developing an individual email for each company.)
Some advise on promoting business
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how promote or make people aware of my services.
Answer:
Target relevant newspapers in your area and write a press release sending it to the relevant media.
You could also try direct mail, such as a brochure drop in the area you’ve targeted. If you want to check the effectiveness of the leaflet drop, it might be an idea to add a reference number or color strip along the bottom, that way you can evaluate the effectiveness of it.
Online local business directories seem to rank quite highly on Google and other search engines – plus a lot of those are free.
Google Adwords – you can target ads by geographical location. As long as you know what you’re doing with Adwords it can be quite cost effective.
Networking. Get out and meet people through the Chamber of Commerce breakfasts, and any other local networking occasion that gets you in front of prospective customers. Be active, get to speak to as many people as you can, give them your card, collect theirs and follow up to see if they need you services or who they know who would need them.
Word Of Mouth Publicity
Public relations includes a variety of strategy that make stronger your credibility, enhance your reflection or influence public opinion. These tactics, such as speeches, special events, promotional activities, product launches and product give-aways; sponsorship, newsletters, annual reports, articles and media releases are targeted to an audience. PR involves communicate who you are, what you do, why you do it, and how you make a difference.
What do you think a logo should be?
Logo should be designed so that they size easily and can be used in a variety of mediums: letterhead, t-shirts, and more. Also remember logos are part of a larger marketing concept. Promotional materials will need consistency to strengthen the company or product image. Don’t just create a graphic but create a brand.
It’s not just for simple brand identity. It’s so that if you have to have your logo overstated. The element won’t drop out. The same reasoning when printing the logo small. The print plates can loose detail when transferring the ink at small sizes. The same goes with t-shirt screen printing.
Face-To-Face Marketing
Firstly, people are on the move. They’ve got shopping and the holidays on their mind. They’re moving and grooving, rocking and rolling. With that in mind, we’ve got to create something that we can do that will want them to stop and look, or stop and listen.
When people are walking by, smile and hand them a pen, and watch them read it as they walk away. A few will turn around and ask questions and that my friend is what you want. – someone to get to know, someone to chat with, someone to present.
Timing is important. Even though some of the citizens at the product show are possibly in your object audience, that’s not what they’re looking for right then, so they’re going to be less interested to your message. I mean, you may get some interest and business, but you’re going to have to work harder for it.
Getting in front of people is important, but there are many of opportunities to do that. No point in wasting your time on contact points that don’t bring a good return.
I sell locally but want to expand nationwide
I would recommend that online. Write articles that would magnetize your kind of target market and submit them to article directories.
Trade exhibition are great, especially if you can locate product anywhere in the country, be sure you have representation there.
Send out press releases and story ideas to product editors and writers at newspapers and magazines around the country. Look for publications with new product sections and see who writes them. Target those people with your press releases and consider sending them a small sample of the product.
You should also look for bloggers and websites that focus on the product market. Send them articles about the benefits of the product and be sure your contact info and website link is included in the resource box.
You may also want to try affiliate programs. There’s tons of information out there to assist you.
