A family 4×4 for the real world might be one way to describe it. None of the off roading excess you’ll never need but all of the versatility and style you’d normally pay close to £20,000 for. Except in this case you’ll pay from £12,495 for the entry-level 1.6 16v petrol model, offered in Dynamic and Eleganza
guises. A 1.9-litre Multijet 8v turbodiesel is the alternative, starting at £14,495. All versions should achieve excellent residual values due to the relatively low numbers that Fiat plans to import.
Should I insist on pads from Toyota?
Toyota Camry Brake pad question
My 2000 Camry failed to pass state inspection because of worn front brake pads. Should I insist on pads from Toyota? The independent garage that services my car says this is not necessary.
answer:
Your factory pads delivered really long pad life and minimized brake rotor wear. They also didn’t squeak in humid weather and didn’t generate a thick, dark layer of brake dust on your wheel covers. But if you don’t care about these benefits then “independent garage” pads will work too.

How to buy a second-hand car?
Search far and wide. Flip through auto magazines and newspaper classifieds for a better idea of what you’re looking for. You can make a search based on your budget, specific make of car or model. You can also ask your mechanic on cars for sale.
Check it out. Test-drive the car to see whether it runs well and look for any physical defects to ensure it’s accident-and defect-free. To really make sure, get your mechanic to do a professional check-up.
Take a look at the service record. You will be able to see first-hand whether the car has been well-maintained and regularly serviced.
Don’t let the seller force you into buying. If you’re not happy with the deal, move on. You’ll surely find something else you like!
Alternatively, buy a car at an auction. However, you won’t be able to do a test drive as the cars are sold on an “as seen” basis.
Guide To Help You Get A Cheap Car Insurance
By Allan Elvin
As the government in the UK has made it mandatory for car owners to have an insurance for their car, there is a sudden rush of insurance companies wooing car owners. Presently, there are more than 100 insurance companies in the UK offering insurance policies for cars. Despite the growing number of insurance companies, there has been little or no change in the price of their car insurance policies. The high price of car insurance discourages many car owners from buying a car insurance. They either prefer not to buy an insurance or they look for a cheap car insurance.
2008 Cadillac Models Under the Spotlight
By Michael Rad
There are millions of Cadillac drivers all over the world and many are restlessly awaiting for news from the USA car builder. Here are the best news on the 2008 Cadillac line up that will either have new facelifts or engine upgrades.
Cadillac CTS – This entry level Cadillac will jump up a few stages in 2008, mainly because of the optional all-wheel-drive system and a much more attractive front design. The CTS is also going to be slightly wider than Cadillacs up to 2007. A 263 horsepower model is available, but motoring addicts will certainly prefer the 3.6 liter V6 engine with direct fuel injection and an output of 304 bhp. The 2008 Cadillac CTS will arrive with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions. Directional headlights that turn progressively as the steering wheel turns are also a huge addition to the CTS. A more powerful CTS-V is also announced, but no launch date has been confirmed yet.
how I can revive the stolen car?
I have lost a car. It has been stolen from the parking zone. Can you suggest me ways as to how I can revive the car. Or what could be the measures i should take to avoid such happenings?
answer:
It is generally the police that will locate your vehicle. Normally this does not mean they go looking for it but they may release an advisory to look for it with their patrol.
as for preventing it in the future you can get a car alarm, the club for you steering wheel and the club for your break/gas pedal. But all of these are just a deterrent. There is no guaranteed way to prevent vehicle theft. Every method of preventing it has an accompying way to get around it. Oh there is also the gas shutoff switch and ignition kill switches both of which can be bypassed.
So what I guess I am saying is you can add deterrents to your vehicle but no real sure fire prevention mechanism.
Just make sure you file a police report and file a claim with your insurance including the police report.
Auto Insurance (Vehicle) Regulation
If I have insured my car in a small town, yet have lived in a much larger town for about a year, and fail to report this change to my insurance company, can I face any penalizations?
Also, what if the car is not insured under the person who the car is registered to and driven by, but his stepmother? The small town insurance companies’ representative is aware of this, as he has overseen the payments, but I am not aware of it being officially recognized in any way. Are there any potential consequences?
Answer:
It’s more likely that if there is a difference in premium cost in the 2 locations, you will be back-charged for the difference from the date you moved. It’s not likely they would be able to deny a claim based on an unreported address change UNLESS it was to a different state where your company does not do business.
It’s just not worth it. No insurance company wants to insure someone who easily and knowingly commits fraud.
Auto Insurance for Teenage Drivers
Introducing the teenage driver to the auto policy will definitely hike its rate. And, sorry, there is no short-cut to avoid the price change. But the following ways may help you to control it to some extent.
Normally the cost of including the teenage girl to the auto policy is not maddening high like including a boy. The premium for a teenage male driver is much higher than that of the young female driver.
There are discounts available for good grades. And it is available with most of the insurer. If you can manage to maintain good grades through-out your educational career, your parents can enjoy some discounts for it.
Try to manage a separate policy for you. When you have the license on your name you may not face problems in obtaining a personal auto policy. Do a bit of research yourself, to check out the prices. Shopping around helps most of the time if not always.
You can also ask your family to purchase you a policy for the cheapest car amongst the three. Dropping the collision and comprehensive coverage on the car is also a good idea if the car is sufficiently old.
