How to max your battery life

Get the most out of your iPod and make music last longer for you. Here’s how to max your battery life:

Don’t let the battery die completely. However little you use your iPod, charge it fully at least once every three weeks to prevent the battery from going flat.

Keep cool. Very cold or hot temperatures cause faster wear and tear on the battery. So do not leave your iPod in the car underthe sun and use covers that allow heat to dissipate.

Hold & Pause. Set the iPod’s hold switch when not in use. Alternatively, pause or turn it off by pressing the play button for two seconds.

Turn off the EQ. The equaliser (EQ) forces your iPod’s processor to “think” while it changes frequencies of the music which can sap the battery.

Set the timer. While extremely useful when searching for songs, the backlight is a big battery drainer. Using a short timer or turning the backlight off will use less power.

Use small files. The iPod has caching techniques to play songs while using the least amount of power. Battery life is best with compressed files (usually MP3 orAAC) rather than full-quality AIFF or WAV files.

Text ‘em. Cheap and efficient. Some companies offer free incoming text, while others offer free unlimited text with certain plans.

Know your network. Check which network most of your friends and peers are on and consider switching to it. Changing networks is easy and you can often keep your number for no extra charge.

Get an IDD card. Great for long-distance calls. Not only does it offer better rates, it also ensures yourtalktime is limited. Most networks have a two-way charge for overseas calls. Or, stick to SMS.

Check your bill. To ensure you catch errors and identify hidden charges. If you find a mistake, dispute it; you’ll often receive credit on future bills.

1. Don’t turn it on! If it happens to still be on, turn it off!
2. Take away the battery, and anything else that can easily come off. If slider unslide - flip, unflip. Dry off as much as you can with a handkerchief or small towel. Humidity and very damp areas can sometimes turn that square red.
3. Don’t turn on the phone on for at least a day.
4. Put the battery back in, turn on the phone. Check everything, including keys to see that things are working properly. If they are, great, if not - next step
5. Substitute - If the last step failed - take the phone to your service provider. They will probably check the ‘wet indicator’ to see if the phone got wet. In most cases, in less you have a special warranty, your provider will not replace the phone for free. Good time to upgrade!

How to change mp3 to midi

30 January, 2008 (14:05) | tips, Technology, Gadget | By: admin

MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Principally, a midi file is like a sheet of music: it contains the tones to be played at the device that should play them, but does not contain the actual sound. The computer/cell phone/whatever is playing the file has to look the instruments up in a table and process the sound itself.
